A coalition of communities, businesses, organizations, and citizens, seeks to preserve the Rock Island corridor as a linear park.
We work with Ameren, Missouri State Parks and other stakeholders so the trail is developed as fast as possible and is of maximum benefit to its users, communities and neighbors. The first 47 miles of Rock Island Trail State Park opens late 2016 from Pleasant Hill to Windsor, MO. The next 144 miles from Windsor to Beaufort, near Union, is being salvaged and to be donated by Ameren to MO State Parks in late 2017. Trail will be developed as as fast as public and private funding allows.
